Temple Health–Chestnut Hill Hospital's contract with Jefferson Health Plans is scheduled to end Sept. 30, 2026, and starting Oct. 1 Jefferson Health Plans would not pay for care there if no new agreement is reached.
On Aug. 17, 2026, Temple Health posted that Temple Health–Chestnut Hill Hospital's agreement with Jefferson Health Plans, a Medicaid and Medicare managed-care company, is scheduled to end Sept. 30, 2026. Temple wrote that the two sides have not yet reached a new agreement. If there is no deal, Jefferson Health Plans would not pay for care at that hospital starting Oct. 1, 2026. The same notice lists exceptions: emergency care remains covered; pregnancy care at the hospital continues before and after birth; and patients with ongoing care for a condition treated there in the last 12 months, or with prior authorization, can keep getting that care for up to 60 days after Sept. 30, 2026.
